The early years cover EPB, WestWayne and The Martin Agency. My time at EPB was such a great foundation. Learning producing basics like what to look for in directors and production companies, who was doing the best work. But is was also paying talent, trafficking tv and radio. WestWayne (Now 22 Squared) opened the door wider to more frequent production as an assistant producer then producer. Martin is where it all really clicked. Digesting the creative, breaking down the script to know minimally what was needed per shoot day or figuring out executional approach. But more importantly learning how to talk and sell creative ideas to production companies.
Even in these early years i was exposed to some amazing production experiences. One shoot that documented tobacco seed to creation of cigar for a storied cigar brand. Another production still tops the most shoot days i’ve ever had on a job; 16.
